The following gold coins are representative of the coins BEI buys and sells. They are primarily what is known as "bullion coins". Bullion gold coins are valuable primarily for the gold in them and not because of their rarity, uniqueness, type or any other consideration.
That said, there are differences other than the amount of gold content that affect value. For example, the one ounce South African Krugerrand normally trades for slightly less than most other one ounce bullion gold coins. The reason? Probably because of the one-time perception that South Africa practiced apartheid policies. Should this difference in value affect your buy decision? That is up to you. In general however, although you can buy the gold Krugerrand for about 3% less than the gold American Eagle, you don't get as much when you sell it.
The key in buying bullion gold coin is to be sure you are buying a widely traded issue that is recognized by dealers as easily marketable. In general, all the gold coins we buy and sell fit this category.
Occasionally, you may find that we cannot get a particular coin shown below. That is usually because of very tight supplies. If you want a particular coin and we cannot obtain it, you can buy another similar coin and then ask us to substitute the coin you want when it is available. We will charge only a small service fee to cover shipping and handling for this service. Of course, though we preserve the market price at which you purchased, any difference in coin price due to differences between the coin you first acquired and the one you exchange it for will be charged or refunded.

Gold Mexican Peso
Fineness:

Some of the most beautiful coins in the world are the Gold Peso Coins from Mexico. The most striking is the majestic Mexican 50 Peso coin, commonly called the Mex 50, pictured here. These coins are unusual in that the gold content is not the standard 1 ounce, one-half ounce, one-quarter ounce, etc. Rather each coin contains more pure gold than corresponding coins of other nations. (See specifications above.)
